This is a short animation done for a story through audio and visual class,
This is an individual project.
When a young creature, Sammie, found herself trapped in an unknown forest, she must find a way out while avoiding a terrifying, yet ever so familiar, creature that was chasing after her.
Story concept:
What if, someone suddenly found themselves trapped with their own flaws and fears?
What would it be like to be forced to confront your flaws and face your own fears? Will you run, or confront them head on?
Structural Points:
Inciting incident: At the start of the video, Sammie found herself alone in a forest and she started to try to find a way out of the forest.
1st plot point: Sammie sensed someone watching her and started to feel frightened as she looked around to try and find where this “person” was. Sammie finally managed to spot the creature. However, only it's bright yellow eyes with slits for pupils were visible which freaked her out.
Midpoint: Sammie chose to run and as she did, she could hear the sounds of the creature running behind her too, the loud stomping and the snapping of branches and twigs.
2nd plot point: Finally, she managed to run out of the forest and onto a cliff. Feeling relieved, she turns around to check if the creature had stopped following her.
Climax: When she turned around, the forest was eerily silent, and as she wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings, she walked too far out, a part of the cliff broke off and she went tumbling off the edge.
Plot twist: At the end of the video, the dark black creature that was chasing her was revealed to be an exact replica of herself, but, it is just that it has the capability to turn into all forms of her fears, flaws and parts of herself that she refuses to accept.
